One of Natyarpana’s guiding principles is cross-cultural exchange, that is, educating audiences about Bharathanatyam and its influence in India. Likewise, Natyarpana strives to imbue all students with an understanding of intersectionality of cultures. Accordingly, students regularly engage with communities outside those traditionally expected at Bharathanatyam recitals and concerts.
Students often perform outreach programs at public schools, libraries, community centers, old-age homes, corporate facilities, and more. Audiences at these programs come together from a vast array of diverse backgrounds and cultures. The impact truly epitomizes the fact that dance is a universal modem of communication.
